NIIMBL is excited to announce that five organizations have been selected to host a NIIMBL eXperience during the summer of 2026. The organizations, representing different geographic regions of the United States, will host a unique eXperience week next summer, designed to introduce first- and second-year college students to rewarding career options in the biopharmaceutical industry. The 2026 NIIMBL eXperience host locations are:
- Puerto Rico Science, Technology, and Research Trust (Puerto Rico)
- Santa Clara University (West)
- University of Houston (South)
- Wistar Institute (Mid-Atlantic)
- Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Northeast)
NIIMBL selected the host locations from a competitive pool of applications submitted in response to its NIIMBL eXperience Request for Applications issued in May of 2025. In total, the Institute awarded $500k to support the five programs.
Now in its eighth year, the NIIMBL eXperience introduces first- and second-year college students to biopharmaceutical careers through facility tours, hands-on activities, and networking with industry professionals. Students not only discover the many opportunities the industry offers but also build valuable professional connections as they begin their career journeys. The program has reached 238 students since its inception in 2019.
Students who are U.S. citizens and actively enrolled in a degree program with fewer than 60 credits will have the opportunity to apply for any one of the five programs beginning October 1, 2025.
